Pinky blush colour. Nose of strawberry, watermelon. Clean and fresh. Good finish.

2022 Ioppa ‘Rusin’ Rosato

Colline Novaresi, Piedmont, Italy

This is a more serious rose made with Nebbiolo grape. Light red with a golden tint. Nose of strawberry, melon, ginger, and a hint of rose petal. Nice mouth feel and a very good finish. One of my favourite of the night.

2022 Domaine Le Roc ‘Ninette’ Rose

Fronto, Southwest France

Clear light red colour. Nose of spices, liquorice, flowery with a hint of flint. Nice palate and finish. Another favourite of mine tonight. Slightly serious and very enjoyable.

2021 Domaine Maby ‘La Forcadiere’ Tavel

Rhone Valley, France

Tavel is the original Rose and traditionally the only type of wine out of Tavel. Deep pink colour with a slight golden tint. Floral nose with a hint of perfume, strawberry, red cherry, citrous zest. There is a hint of tannins, long finish. The wine will stand up to a red grilled meat pairing. Another serious rose and another of my favourite for the night.

2021 Wildman Wine ‘Astro Bunny’

South Australia

$27.20 (reg. $32)

This is an interesting wine. It is individually fermented in the bottle and capped with a pop bottle cap. So, expect some bottle variation. Wine is unfiltered and comes out fizzy. Colour is a dull brownish pink. However, the nose is amazing: citrous peel, peaches and pears with a hint of yeast.  Hint of tannins on the palate with a long finish. A very interesting wine.

2021 Le Carillon de Vendome ‘Le Cocagne’ Pineau d’Aunis

Coteaux du Vendome, Loire, France

Pink with a golden tint. Nose of strawberry, raspberry, lychee, pear and white pepper spices. Round mouth feel and a very nice finish. Another favourite of the night.

2022 Domaine des Anges Ventoux

Rhone Valley, France

$21.25 (reg. $25)

Pink colour. Nose of strawberry, red currant, cherries, and spices.  Nice finish. Fresh and enjoyable.
