2022 GRIESEL ROSE BRUT, HESSISCHE-BERGSTRASSE, GERMANY

Golden colour. Nose of tropical fruit, stone fruit, bread and yeast. Nice fizz. Longish finish. More complex than the cava. Pinot Noir done in the traditional method.

ROSE

2022 ALEGRE VALGANON CLARETE, RIOJA, SPAIN

Salmon colour. The nose is quite tight. I really have to work it to get any nosing. Guava, stone fruit, very soft tannins, nice finish.

2023 AMEZTOI ‘RUBEBTIS’ TXAKOLI ROSADO PAIS VASCO,SPAIN

Golden with a tinge of salmon colour. Nose of preserved vegetables then opened up to peaches and stone fruit, nice round mouthfeel, and quite complex on the palate.

$23.80 at tonight’s tasting

WHITE

2022 HIRSCH GRUNER VELTINER, KAMPTAL, AUSTRIA

Straw colour. Nose of green apple, citrus, peachy with hints of minerals. Fresh on the palate. Nice acidity, very nice finish with hints of almond.

$26.35 at tonight’s tasting

2022 MONTROSE VIOGNIER, LANGUEDOC, FRANCE

Straw colour with a green tinge. Fruity nose of citrus, stone fruit, peaches, and almond. Nice round mouth feel, fresh and complex on the palate.

$19.55 at tonight’s tasting

RED

2022 IOPPA COLLINE NOVARESI NEBBIOLO, PIEDMONT, ITALY

Light ruby colour. Floral nose, red fruit, cherry, raspberry, very soft tannins. Fresh and light body. Slightly chilled will go very well with a chicken salad and even some seafood.

$26.35 at tonight’s tasting

2021 CLOS DU GRAVILLAS RENDEZ-VOUS SUR LUNE. MINERVOIS, FRANCE

Dark purple colour almost inky. Nose of black pepper, black berry, blueberry, dark cherry. Nice round mouthfeel and soft, very well integrated tannins. Complex and yet not overpowering. This wine will pair very well with red meat and yet is not a heavy, big wine. I can see this, when lightly chilled, will pair perfectly with a meaty summer BBQ. This is the most complex and interesting wine for the night.

$28.05 at tonight’s tasting
